W.C. Flanik was airport facility chief during the construction projects. His wife, Delphia, assisted with the slide shows.
W.C. Flanik was born on 21 December 1912 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George and Mary Clepec Flanik and married Delphia Kay Dawson.
W.C. Flanik served with the Federal Aviation Administration retiring from the Lynchburg Municipal Airport where he served as control tower chief for 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
W.C. Flanik ("Bill") died on 26 January 1988 in Lynchburg, Virginia and is buried in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
