Scanned images of two bills of sale issued to James Potter on 21 February 1854. These documents are part of Jones Memorial Library Manuscript Collection 1141, the Potter Estate Papers, Box 1-4.
James Potter owned the Tweedside and Colerain Plantations in Savannah, Georgia. These documents list 15 named persons enslaved by Potter. Enslaved persons named in the first document include Israel, Grace, Will, Richard, London, Rachael, Paul, Munjo, London, Shelly, Baby, Bess, Jacob, Rebecca, and Lilla. There are 14 enslaved persons named in the second document including George, Hannah, Cyrus, Cain, Rose, Shelly, Grace, Moses, Landes, Ned, Dianah, Adam, Jemmima, and Jim.
Note that the two bills of sale are for the same date.

"BILL OF SALE Sold by John M. Cooper
State of Georgia, Chatham County City of Savannah
Know all Men by these Presents, That I Cornelia W. Beckwith attorney of Edward G. Beckwith for and in consideration of the sum of Seven thousand five hundred $7500 Dollars to me in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these Presents, by James Potter Esq of Chatham County the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold, and by these Presents do bargain, sell and deliver unto the said Jame[s] Potter
The following negro slaves to wit
Israel, Grace, Will, Richard London, Rachael
Paul, Mingo, London, Nelly, Baby, Bess,
Jacob, Rebecca and Lilla, fifteen in number.
to have and to hold the said fifteen slaves, to wit Israel, Grace, Will, Richard London, Rachael, Paul, Mingo, London, Nelly, Baby, Bess, Jacob, Rebecca and Lilla unto the said James Potter his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, to his and his only proper use and behoof for ever. And I the said Cornelia W. Beckwith Attorney of E. G. Beckwith for my and his Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said James Potter
Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, from and against all persons shall and will warrant, and for ever defend, by these Presents. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and Seal. Dated at Savannah the Twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four and in the Seventy Eighth year of the Independence of the United States of America.

Know all Men by these Presents, That I Madelina I Rankin for and in consideration of the sum of the sum of Seven Thousand $7000.00 Dollars to me in hand paid, at and before the sealing and delivery of these Presents, by James Potter Esquire the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold, and by these Presents do bargain, sell and deliver unto the said James Potter the following negro slaves to wit George, Hannah, Cyrus, Cain, Rose, Nelly, Grace, Moses, Landes, Ned, Dianah, Adain, [Jemmina/Jemmima], and [Quin?], being Fourteen, 14, in number to have and to hold the said fourteen Negroes George, Hannah, Cyrus, Cain, Rose, Nelly, Grace, Moses, Landes, Ned, Dianah, Adain, [Jemmina/Jemmima], and [Quin?] unto the said James Potter his Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and Assigns, to his and his only proper use and behoof forever.
